About California JumpStart Coalition

The purpose of the California Jump$tart Coalition is to improve the quality of life in California by teaching young people how to succeed with money, including organization, earning, spending, saving, investing and credit. We are a not-for-profit, Section 501(c)(3) organization affiliated with the National Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. Our mission is to improve the personal financial literacy of California's youth:

  • By helping the personal finance education community become more connected, effective, and powerful
  • By supporting the implementation of personal finance education at every level from K-12th Grades

Our members are individuals and organizations who recognize and support the lifetime benefits of personal financial education, including teachers, corporations, CPA's, banks, credit unions, not-for-profits, school administrators, school districts, boards of education, parents and students. Benefits of membership include:

  • Networking with others who are committed to improving financial education
  • Keeping informed of national and statewide efforts and issues in youth financial education
  • Participating in personal financial education community meetings
  • Having access to Jump$tart-sponsored surveys and research
  • Publicizing efforts to the personal finance education community
  • Becoming a member of the largest coalition of its kind in California.
