Who We Are:

The California Jump$tart Coalition is a not-for-profit, volunteer group with hundreds of organizations and individuals representing businesses, government agencies, non-profits and educators across the State. The purpose of the Coalition is to improve the quality of life in California by teaching young people how to succeed with money, including organization, earning, spending, saving, investing and credit.

Our mission is to improve the personal financial literacy of California's youth. To accomplish this we act as a facilitator, bringing together the resources generated by members who share our mission. Our members are individuals and organizations who recognize and support the lifetime benefits of personal financial education, including teachers, corporations, CPA's, banks, credit unions, not-for-profit organizations, school administrators, school districts, boards of education, parents and students.

The California Jump$tart Coalition is a not for profit, Section 501(c)(3) organization affiliated with the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy (IRS determination letter is available upon request).

Who We Serve

The beneficiaries of our efforts are our youth. While the need for financial education applies equally to all Californians, many of our members focus on the low-to-moderate income students (for financial institution members in support of their Community Reinvestment goals). We work with both the providers of financial education as well as our teachers and organizations that deliver programs that follow national standards.

Our Funding

We depend on contributions to fuel our programs. We would appreciate your financial or "in-kind" support. You may make either a contribution to our general fund, provide us with grants for specific initiatives, or become a sponsor of one of our events (Details follow on the next page).
